"I have been specializing in Health Care design and planning for over twenty years covering a wide range from basic office design for H.M.O.s, to general medical office buildings, to specialized medical practices, to complex surgery and diagnostic imaging suites, and ultimately total hospital master planning.
I believe that listening to the client and understanding the operation and management of a facility from an end users viewpoint is crucial to good design and planning. By focusing on issues that affect facility managers everyday and preparing them for impending code regulations and changes in technology, we pave the way for a successful facility life in terms of not only function but: flexibility, accessibility, durability, maintenance, economy, energy efficiency and environmental sensitivity.
In addition, Highton Company is structured so that I am available to follow through from start to finish as your personal architect. I will be with you from early programming, through the entire design and planning process and during the entire construction phase until the last punch list item is complete and you are one hundred percent satisfied."

Gary received a bachelor's degree in accounting from the University of Arizona and is licensed as a CPA in Arizona. Gary practiced public accounting for ten years and private accounting for three years before having the opportunity to make a career change into the field of architecture. The decision was a no-brainer.
In 2012 Gary completed the AZ State Board's Development Program and the Architectural Registration Exams and received his architectural registration. He also became a Principal in the firm that same year. As a firm Principal Gary continues the Highton Company emphasis of design and planning based on patient and family-centered healing environments. He coordinates each phase of a project from the initial design through to completion. He is intimately involved in all of Highton Company's projects and stays in contact with the client through every phase. The organizational and time management skills that Gary learned as an accountant help him keep each project progressing smoothly at a pace that allows Highton Company to deliver a finished product on time and within budget for the clients.
